Meet The Team

Jamille A. Robbins

Jamille is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jamille has over 25 years of experience in the engineering field with the last 16 years in state government. After learning about food deserts and food supply chain issues associated with climate change, he became interested in finding a solution. In discussions with his friends he wondered what he/they could do. Those conversations began this collective project into vertical farming known as Capital Farms, LLC.

Shawn Sutton

Graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Information Systems. Shawn has worked in the supply chain industry with over 16 consolidated years’ experience in Operations, project management, Sourcing and Category Management with different organizations such as IBM, Toshiba, RedHat and Align Technologies (Invisalign).  Shawn’s passion for farming comes from seeing the effects of climate change, global warming, food deserts in our urban communities and supply chain issues we face today.  Shawn realized that something had to be done and while working alongside his partners at  Capital Farms LLC.  He knows that Capital Farms is the disruption that the farming industry needs.

DeShawn Olden

DeShawn is a proud graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a degree in business administration and marketing.

For more than 16 years he has worked in the banking financial services sector for a fortune 100 company in a variety of roles including Product Manager,  Industrial Engineer, and Systems Analyst.

In his spare time he enjoys growing fresh vegetables and herbs with his family at their home garden. It wasn’t until he started sharing his passion for farming which led to conversations with educators about the significant issues with food insecurities in the education system.  As a father of two, the cumulation of those conversations resulted in a mission being established: To eliminate food deserts so that children and families in need don’t have to choose between eating healthy and making important life decisions.

Neil Chance

Neil is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Batchelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Upon graduating, he pursued a career in automotive retail. That pursuit has lead to 20+ years in retail sales and management. When approached with this idea, many thoughts came to mind. Being a father of two came to the forefront of those thoughts. The idea of a better, healthier and more sustainable way to produce food for his/their future made joining the TEAM an easy decision

Koren Robinson

Koren Robinson is a NFL veteran, speaker, investor and businessman. Koren’s professional football career spanned 8 years in the NFL, primarily with the Seattle Seahawks. Koren was a 2 time Pro Bowler and received numerous accolades including the Ed Block Courage award and still holds the longest play in Seattle Seahawks history.

Koren played collegiate football at North Carolina State University, where he began to foster his love for business, before he was drafted by the Seahawks in the 1st round, as 9th overall pick of the 2001 NFL Draft. Throughout Koren’s career he has been actively involved in numerous charities nationwide including Alzheimers Association, the Shriners Children Hospital, and Habitat for Humanity.

A key lesson that Koren has taken from his experience as an athlete was the importance of clean and healthy eating.  Throughout his career Koren lived in various cities across the United States with strong organic and sustainable food markets. It was during this time period Koren learned the vital role food plays in overall health and wellness. He began to look at food as medicine and adopted the moto “eat to live, don’t live to eat.”
